Tenet attended the NDA Estate Supplier Event held at the Reebok Stadium Bolton in November 2012. This annual event attracts many of the leading authorities and key decision makers within the nuclear industry, all under one roof to update the market place, network, collaborate and form new key and enhance existing business relationships. Tenet had an exhibition stand very close to the hub of the event and was visited by many new and existing customers. Over the period of the seven hours, many business opportunities were discussed and hopefully some of these will lead to orders in the coming months. Whilst representatives from the NDA and all of the Site Licence companies (SLCs) were present, there were also the top twenty Tier 2 suppliers from the NDA estate and also 93 other Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) who exhibited at this prestigious event, with over 700 delegates attending.
Throughout the day, eminent speakers from the NDA, SLCs and the supply chain held toolbox talks to engage the members of the audience which included senior Executives from the NDA, SLCs and the NDA Estate Supply Chain community. Tenet witnessed the launch of the “NDA Estate Supply Chain Awards”. The aim is that the NDA Estate Supply Chain Awards will be a prestigious recognition for those companies working in the nuclear decommissioning and clean-up market.
Tenet has been supporting cleanup operations at Sellafield in collaboration with the NDA, SLCs, Tier 2 suppliers and other SMEs, for many years now supplying its specialist CE&I Design Engineering consultancy services. April 2012 – A Birchwood (Warrington) based engineering consultancy that provides specialist Control, Electrical and Instrument (CE&I) design services to the nuclear industry, has secured a six-figure finance package from NatWest to support its growth plans.
The Supply Chain Charter aims to foster good working relations across the NDA Estate supply chain, with all parties signing up to a set of principles encouraging mutually beneficial and rewarding relationships.
The afternoon was taken up with workshops focusing on specific areas of offshore wind farm development. Information from those organisations at the vanguard of the offshore wind generation industry was particularly enlightening in identifying potential weaknesses in the supply chain which could negatively impact on future developments & also where innovation was desperately required to bring efficiency savings to the process.
